Kalinga Batok Tattoo Booth at the Holiday Folk Fair

(By Fe Visaya)

One of the attractions at the recently concluded Holiday Folk Fair was the Filipino cultural booth hosted by the UPAA-W. This interactive exhibit highlighted the traditional art of Kalinga batok tattooing, a tradition passed down through generations, captivating visitors with its history, symbolism, and artistry.

Kids had their own share of excitement with their temporary tattoos. Inspired by traditional Batok patterns, the designs allowed children to explore the art of self-expression in a fun and creative way. The smiles on their faces as they admired their new tattoos were truly priceless.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as volunteers and visitors. Stay tuned for updates on future events!
